Volunteer Opportunity for the José Mateo Ballet Theatre's 15th Anniversary Dance for World Community Festival on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Harvard Square, Cambridge
DWC Festival traditionally brings together dance artists, activists, and enthusiasts to celebrate and raise awareness about the local and global issues that matter most to the entire community, and would not be possible without the generous help of volunteers!
This year’s festival will feature over 60 local dance groups, 20 advocacy organizations, and 20 local businesses, including arts market vendors and food vendors! Performances and free intro-level dance classes will be held throughout the day across 5 stages along Mass Ave, where vendors will be lined up on the street.
WHEN: Saturday, June 7, 2025, with performances and classes from 12-6 pm, dance party 6-8 pm
WHERE: Massachusetts Avenue between Putnam Avenue and Bow Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS: Shifts are 3 hours long. Volunteers can sign up for one or multiple shifts. All volunteers will receive a brand new 2025 DWCF t-shirt, a free food voucher to any of our partner food vendors, and one free adult ballet class!
VOLUNTEER DUTIES: Each shift indicated above will have different tasks throughout the festival.
Setup – putting up flags, banners, and signage, bringing materials to stages and tents, setting up tables and chairs for stages and vendors, and manning info booths
General Volunteer – manning info booths, monitoring tables along Advocacy Way, signing in dance groups and vendors, assisting at the stages with performances and classes, greeting festival attendees and answering questions, and promoting the raffle items
Clean Up and Breakdown – breakdown all tables and chairs at each tent and stage, clean up of festival grounds, put away various materials
