Shelter Dinner Prep & Serving Volunteers
Salvation Army
Description
The Salvation Army is seeking volunteer groups, restaurants, and or individuals to help prepare and/or serve dinner in their shelter for the unhoused.
The shelter serves men who are experiencing homelessness who are looking to take their next step in finding permanent housing. Guests meet with a case manager for support in their journey to stability.
Volunteer responsibilities:
Cook or provide a meal to serve approximately 60 persons.
Serve meal to guests in the shelter.
Assist with clean up after meal.
Provide a friendly face and a listening ear for guests.
Dinner is served at 6pm daily. The Salvation Army can accomodate one-time groups, but they are also looking for groups able to make a once-monthly commitment to provide shelter dinner service.
The Salvation Army is also looking for restaurants to join their calendar of rotating donated meals once per month. This does not require volunteers to assit in serving/cleanup if not feasible.
